Seeing the cause instead of guessing at it
Roots, a belly where the pipe has settled and holds water, grease buildup, and a cracked or collapsed section all cause backups, and they all need different answers. Cabling clears roots for a while; it does nothing for a belly or a break. The camera tells us which one you actually have so the money goes to the right fix.
